River Rock Church is a place where you can discover your gifts and be active in the ministry God has gifted you for!
We are a church open to people of all ages and are blessed to have many children in our church. You will experience a casual atmosphere, practical Bible based messages, heart-felt worship and people who love living for and serving Jesus.
River Rock Church is part of The Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA) movement that seeks to honor Jesus as Savior, Sanctifier, Healer and Coming King through healthy church growth, world-wide missions, and church planting. Their website also lists many local, national and worldwide ministries helping fulfill the Great Commission. The Northwestern District of the C&MA is located in St. Bonifacius, MN on the Campus of Crown College.
Crown College is our local Bible College and is just 30 minutes north of our church. Big Sandy Camp is our Bible Camp and retreat center.
While we have purchased 10 acres of land for our future building, we currently rent space at Chatfield Elem School at 330 S Market St, Belle Plaine, MN 56011 (map) for our Sunday morning and Wednesday Evening Church programs. We also rent a couple meeting rooms for our Ministry Center at 124 W Main St, Belle Plaine, MN 56011 (map)
River Rock Church was planted by Rev. Chris and Julie Teien who moved to Belle Plaine October 2001 with the prayer and financial support of the Northwestern District of the Christian & Missionary Alliance. River Rock Church had our first public worship service on Palm Sunday March 2002. Over these years many people have been won to Jesus, built up in their faith, equipped to serve in ministry, lives have been changed, broken relationships mended and life-long friendships formed.

Our Church Name Reflects Life in Jesus Christ
The River Rock Church name and logo reflect the eternal springs of life giving water flowing from Christ the Rock (…they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ. 1 Corinthians 10:4 NIV). He is the One that can satisfy spiritual thirst.

Before becoming a full time Pastor Chris worked for eight years in the optical industry at a corporation in Minnetonka while volunteering in ministry at Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie. Chris has been a full-time pastor since 1996 and has served at First Baptist Church in Forest City, Iowa and Chisholm Baptist (BGC) in Chisholm, Minnesota before moving to Belle Plaine in 2001 to start River Rock Church.
Chris has been married to Julie since 1987 and they have two boys and a daughter that married a local man from Belle Plaine. They also have two granddaughters. Chris & Julie also have two Australian Shepherds dogs.
Chris is passionate about helping people find Jesus and live the “Christ Centered Life” and tries to proclaim God’s awesome message of salvation, grace and hope in a real and relevant way. He received the majority of his formal ministry training and degrees from Crown College and Moody Bible Institute. He is licensed and ordained with the Christian & Missionary Alliance.

Dan and his family moved from Waconia to Jordan to help start River Rock Church. Dan and his wife Becky have four adult children and one grand daughter and a few more grandkids on the way. Dan and Becky’s life experience help them to lead some of River Rock’s Growth Groups including the FaithBuilders group. Dan and Becky are graduates of Crown College.

Jessica balances beinga wife, mom and part time administrative assistant. She enjoys photography and social networking on sites like Facebook. She is one of first founding members of River Rock Church. Jessica attended Crown College and her husband Tim is currently at Crown College.
2008 Emma Krumbees Scarecrow Contest
Emma Krumbees has a scarecrow contest each year and the youth group and some of the youth leaders made Bob the Tomato and Larry Boy from Veggie Tales. Larry’s even wearing a River Rock shirt. The youth group did a great job!
