River Rock Church is part of a worldwide family of churches called The Christian and Missionary Alliance (the Alliance or C&MA). We serve in every corner of the world. We support everything from church planting in Asia to hospitals in Africa to agricultural projects in South America and literacy instruction in American inner cities.
The Alliance is an evangelical denomination with a major emphasis on world evangelization. It maintains a “big tent” stance in reference to many doctrinal matters, encouraging believers of diverse backgrounds and theological traditions to unite in an alliance to know and exalt Jesus Christ and to complete His Great Commission.
Jesus’ words motivate us: “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison, and visit you?’ And the King will tell them, ‘I assure you, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’” Matthew 25:37-40, NLT. “And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone, everywhere.” Mark 16:15, NLT.
The U.S. Alliance is part of a Christ-centered global missions and church planting movement more than 6 million strong. Our Acts 1:8 family—inspired by Jesus’ love and empowered by His Spirit—is passionate to bring the good news about Him to our neighborhoods and world. Through the Great Commission Fund we support 700 missionaries in 70 countries. Get more information about The Alliance at http://cmalliance.org/about/
Locally River Rock Church is part of the North Central District of the C&MA https://www.ncdcma.org/ and their network of churches in Minnesota and the Eastern Dakotas ans works together supporting Alliance Missions, Church Planting, Big Sandy Camp/Retreat Center and Crown College.
As Jesus’ love transforms us, we are compelled to share His healing love with our neighbors. Alliance ministries show best how we share the practical message of Christ’s love with the marginalized, the poor, the wounded, and the sick at home and around the world.
For over 125 years, Alliance people have been compelled to go into all the earth and make disciples. As international, vocational, marketplace, and relief workers, chaplains or interns, the opportunity to serve is expansive.
“As a young Bible student in Florida I became acquainted with, and involved in, the C&MA and the vision they have for world missions. Over the years I have enjoyed fellowship with Alliance missionaries around the world and support their endeavors to reach a lost world for Christ.” –Dr. Billy Graham, Billy Graham Evangelistic Association
The Church is God’s instrument to reach the lost. That’s why our energies and resources are poured into planting and developing healthy, vibrant, communities of faith in the United States and around the world.
Short-term missions give Alliance people an opportunity to discover how God works to enrich the lives of others. Envisionconnects you with overseas workers and deepens your commitment to Christ.
Through coaching, higher education, leadership training, or theological preparation, Alliance people are taught to live the gospel and equipped to take it to the world.
Our primary objective is Jesus’ command to “go” and “make disciples.” We believe every follower of Jesus is equipped to grow in His love and lead others to follow Him.
“The Alliance has been one of the most powerful missions organizations in the world. I have worked alongside them on every continent and have a profound respect for the way they work with national churches.” –Dr. Ravi Zacharias, Ravi Zacharias International Ministries
Alliance chaplains share the good news in challenging, diverse, and ever-changing environments to which traditional ministries often have little or no access.
You can be a practical messenger of God’s grace and peace in reconciliation ministry through one-on-one coaching and mediation training.
Many Alliance camp participants are won to Christ every year. Experiencing God’s creation and Christ’s love also offers unique opportunities to grow in their faith and be equipped for the “rugged life” of full-time service.
When natural disasters strike, Alliance people are there to provide immediate relief—and remain there to help rebuild and develop devastated communities.
